Our Journey to a 2 Acre Homestead in Shannon, NC

Our Journey to a 2 Acre Homestead in Shannon, NC

From Palm Bay to Shannon

After spending years nurturing our .5 acres in Palm Bay, FL, we felt it was time for a significant change. Our recent move to a 2-acre homestead in Shannon, NC marks the beginning of an exciting chapter in our lives. This new space allows us to expand our ambitions of sustainable living, where we can grow our own vegetables and raise chickens and goats.

A Vision for Sustainable Living

In Shannon, we envision transforming our 2-acre property into a self-sufficient homestead. We are excited to cultivate a diverse vegetable garden that will not only feed our family but will also provide fresh produce for our local community. By raising chickens, we hope to enjoy fresh eggs daily, while goats will help with land maintenance and provide milk for our family.

Creativity and Commerce

In addition to farming, I plan to set up a workshop on the homestead dedicated to creating personalized laser engraved items. This endeavor is close to my heart and allows me to merge my creativity with my entrepreneurial spirit. Eventually, we aim to open a stand at the front of our farm where locals can purchase fresh produce, baked goods, and unique handcrafted items. This vision represents not just our new life but also our commitment to building connections within our community.
